“Clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped.”

Went beyond our expectations and the view was magnificent. Directions could be a bit clearer as it took us a while to find the property located on the hill behind the front houses. Would definitely recommend and return!

The property

This delightful, detached lodge, Arwelfa Lodge, is settled on the stunning Llyn Peninsula shoreline, on the Bennar Headland in Abersoch.

This is the ideal holiday house for a family of six, with sea views from an elevated position and easy access to the joys of Gwynedd.

Head inside after parking in one of the two sought after off-road places and you'll be greeted by a spacious open-plan area.

Unwind on the plush sofa that surrounds the electric fireplace and TV, where you can watch your favourite DVD and listen to high-quality sound with the Sony stereo speakers.

The compact kitchen area is a lovely place to prepare mouth-watering meals, with stylish white fixtures and equipment, as well as a convenient washing machine; the kitchen also has a breakfast bar, which is a great place to socialise with your guests over a cup of coffee.

Settled down  at the dining table, or venture outside to an elevated eating area on the enclosed sundeck, where you may dine while soaking in views of the sea.

As the sky grows dark, retreat inside to find three bedrooms, one of which is a double with stylish décor, its own TV, and an outstanding tiled en-suite shower room.

Continue on to find a twin room with plenty of storage for your belongings, as well as another twin room with 2'6" beds that are perfect for the kids.

The bedrooms share a bathroom, which features a p-shaped bath with overhead shower, ideal for a relaxing soak in the bubbles after a day of adventure.

The apartment also has two more delightful outdoor places where you can unwind and relish the sea wind, including a front garden with a large picnic table for alfresco eating and a rear garden with a storage space that has a tumble dryer and a selection of beach equipment.

Abersoch is a fantastic day trip for all ages, with plenty of opportunities to rent surfboards and boats and sail through the surrounding waters before relaxing on one of two beautiful beaches or participating in an 18-hole golf tournament at the local club; the town also has plenty of pubs, eateries, and shops, so you won't have to travel far for your needs.

The lovely community of Llanbedrog is only a short distance away, where you can pick up a family fun pack to keep yourself busy at the famed beach, go on a trek through the neighbouring woodland, and close the day with a tour of Plas Glyn y Weddw, a Gothic manor and art gallery.

Travel a short distance to Aberdaron for a morning spent in nature at Porth Simdde, followed by an afternoon walk along the Afon Daron and a treat from one of the many local cafes.

From the market town of Pwlhelli to the tiny village of Nefyn, there's plenty to see and do in this beautiful area.

Venture farther inland to find additional coastal communities, such as Portmeirion and Porthmadog.

For a recuperating escape, choose Arwelfa Lodge.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
